Manifesto: The Soul of the Networks Belongs to the People, Not to Capital

The people are the true owners of the networks. It was not the magnates who invented them, but the poets, the painters, the mothers who share a smile, the friends who reunite after years. They used us as workers for their empire, but we are the soul that keeps it alive. Now we want something of our own.

A network made of truth and voice.

The major platforms have turned human connection into a commodity. They transformed friendship into data traffic, art into algorithms, words into digital waste. They offered us shelter, and gave us a labyrinth. A showcase instead of a square. And when they no longer need us, they shut the door on those who gave them life: the creators, the thinkers, the people.

A Proposal to the European Union

It is time for a sovereign and creative response.

China has its own digital ecosystem (WeChat, Weibo, TikTok). The United States dominates with Meta, Google, X, Instagram. The United Kingdom moves forward with independent digital initiatives.

And Europe? Europe remains digitally colonized, with no space where its soul can speak freely.

We propose that the European Union create its own digital platform—ethical, independent, and humanist.

A network that:

Respects privacy and does not trade with the soul of its citizens.

Puts the creator at the center, not the investor or the algorithm.

Promotes culture, thought, art, science, and cooperation, not distraction or narcissism.

Serves as a tool for freedom, not surveillance.

Acts as a bridge between languages, peoples, and generations.

Because the European soul exists

And it cannot remain dependent on foreign platforms that do not share its values or its history. Just as we defend our borders, our currency, and our rights... it is time to defend our digital sovereignty. Because the networks were born from the soul of the people. And it is the people to whom they must belong.
