Pabilo Colme was arguing with his friend Andrés that that sky had to be magical. It happened every time that, near the beach where they drank coffee next to the natural park, an amethyst-colored mist settled high above, creating a magnetic vibration that enveloped them.

That year, a young and friendly girl approached them to praise the sunset. After greeting them, she stood facing the sea, making subtle gestures as if she were hiding something between the folds of the clouds. Before she left, Colme asked her what she was doing, to which she replied with a mystery:
—In amethyst afternoons, your secret will be an artist.

The following year, Colme and Andrés were no longer there, they had moved elsewhere, but the girl had indeed returned. Although the afternoon was not amethyst, she began to walk around where she had been the previous year, looking for the trace of her secret. Suddenly, a middle-aged man appeared, wearing a writer's cap and carrying an easel on his shoulder as if he were about to start painting. She approached him and said:

—Good afternoon, Miguel Ángel Magno. Be an artist.
—I am a poet —he replied— but I also paint.

He set up his easel to begin working without paying much attention to her. The young woman, intrigued, asked him:

—Where do you come from? Are you here for a few days or to paint a picture? What do you do? Tell me something about yourself...

Then, he stopped what he was doing. He straightened his clothes, adjusted his garment, took off his sunglasses, and looked her steadily in the eyes.

—Didn't you leave a secret last year hidden in the amethyst afternoon? —he said firmly—. Well, I am your artist.
